SME Essentials provides SMEs and startups with 24/7 SOC monitoring, threat detection, incident response and AI governance through a fixed monthly subscription.
KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia — 19 August 2026 — Malaysian cybersecurity company DeltaSpike today launched SME Essentials, a subscription-based Managed Detection and Response (MDR) service designed to bring enterprise-grade cybersecurity within reach of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and high-growth startups.
SMEs make up more than 97% of business establishments in Malaysia, yet most operate without dedicated cybersecurity teams, even as cloud adoption, e-commerce and hybrid work expand their exposure to cyber threats. SME Essentials combines a globally recognised Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) platform with round-the-clock monitoring by DeltaSpike’s Security Operations Centre, providing subscribers with threat detection, incident response support and quarterly reporting for a fixed monthly fee.
Rather than selling another cybersecurity software product, the service gives SMEs continuous access to experienced cybersecurity analysts who identify, validate, and respond to security incidents before they become operational disruptions.
The company said the service is particularly suited to organisations with approximately 50 endpoints and above, across sectors including manufacturing, logistics, healthcare, professional services, retail, education, technology and financial services. Cybersecurity should not be a privilege available only to large corporations. A company with 30–50 employees can have the same cloud infrastructure and cyber exposure as a multinational, but most cannot justify a 24-hour SOC or a specialised security team. Every growing business deserves access to enterprise-grade cyber resilience.
DeltaSpike CEO Taufik Othman said cybersecurity has become a boardroom issue, not just an IT one. “Cyber resilience is no longer simply about preventing attacks. It is about protecting business continuity, maintaining customer confidence, safeguarding brand and stakeholder reputation, supporting regulatory compliance and enabling sustainable growth,” he said. “SMEs deserve the same level of protection that larger organisations have relied on for years.”
Supporting Malaysia’s SME Digital Economy
Beyond the commercial launch, DeltaSpike announced its intention to establish a broader SME Cyber Resilience Initiative, working alongside organisations that support Malaysia’s entrepreneurial and SME ecosystem to improve cybersecurity awareness and resilience. The plan is to promote practical cybersecurity adoption among SMEs through targeted engagement across the wider entrepreneurial ecosystem, including cybersecurity awareness programmes and executive briefings on ransomware and phishing.
The initiative aims to complement Malaysia’s national digital economy agenda by helping businesses strengthen cyber resilience while pursuing digital transformation, artificial intelligence adoption and international market expansion.
SME Essentials is available immediately across Malaysia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, the US, the UK and other markets, with plans to support SMEs globally.
